Development

Locations are researched 
  • People will search for buildings are areas for the film to be shot. 
  • This is important because the locations will already have been found and they can get onto filming.
Financing is sought
  • This is when the filmmakers try to find money to make the film, this can be from crowdfunding or a production company.
  • This is important because if there's no money they can't make a film.
Pre visualisation images are drawn
  • This is when an artist will draw pictures of what the film and its characters will look like.
  • This is important because shows producers what the film might be like and can make them invest in the film. 
Rights to the material are secured
  • The maker of a book or a tv show will give consent to the filmmakers so they can make the film.
  • This is very important because without the rights to the material they cant make the film adaptation. 
Pre-production

Actors and crew hired

  • The actors and crew are hired so the film can being shooting
  • This is important because without them there won't be a film. 
Studio is booked

  • A studio will be booked so that filming can begin 
  • It's important because this is where the majority of the film will be shot. 
storyboards are designed
  •  This tells the crew what to do and lets them know how the film is going to play out. It gives them camera angles and lighting instructions.
  • This is important because it tells the cast and crew what to do and where to be.
